Weekly Feedback...

Developments should be fleshed out further and you should now be generating new pieces of work in whatever form you wish - this stage of development should be tougher 

 I had a quick 1:1 session with James today discussing my current ideas and where to take them. I have struggled with this brief so finalising my ideas was important today so I now know to continue to produce a good final outcome. 

 My chosen object is a chair, I am still doing some research and development of ideas to help solidify the final product. I am focussing on the social class system and relating it to chairs in a way that allows me to produce a product that appeals to all people, this comes from my initial idea of having a chair and a throne, both are the same object but have different meaning because of hierarchy and social status.

 With more research and development in my sketchbook I will therefore be able to produce the final outcome.

We were formally introduced to the YCN briefs today, it has been mentioned prior to this lecture but its now time to develop ideas and final outcomes! I looked into all the live briefs and I'm thinking about ArtFund_, Frontier or The Grown Up Chocolate Company. I need to start sketching out ideas and reading over each brief again to make a final decision about which one I want to explore... Looking forward to possible outcomes for this!

Bread Typography

I was looking forward to this workshop but unfortunately had to miss it!  However, using notes and inspiration from Nick's instagram I have completed the workshop in my own time. I chose to keep the letters quite large and visible and used alternative textures for each letter by keeping some as bread and others were toasted.  I used ten different coloured pieces of paper for the backgrounds of each letter, so for the letter 'A' it shows the ten different colours in one GIF, I did this for each letter and this resulted in what would've been a minute long GIF, which isn't really the idea of them.  So I chose alternative coloured backgrounds to create the alphabet GIF.
